Storyline: Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones begins a decade after the previous film. A growing Separatist movement threatens the Galactic Republic. After an assassin nearly kills Senator Padmé Amidala, the Jedi assign her two protectors: the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young, powerful apprentice, Anakin Skywalker.

Their simple mission quickly splits in two. Obi-Wan follows a bounty hunter's trail and discovers a massive, mysterious clone army that someone created for the Republic. Meanwhile, Anakin escorts Padmé to her home planet for safety. There, away from the Jedi Order's strict rules, their friendship blossoms into a secret, forbidden romance. Anakin also suffers from nightmares about his mother, which push him toward a tragic journey where his fear and anger grow.

All paths collide on the planet Geonosis. Separatists capture Obi-Wan as he uncovers their war plans. When Anakin and Padmé attempt a rescue, their enemies capture them too and force them into a deadly arena execution. The new clone army arrives, sparking the first massive battle of the Clone Wars. The film ends with a dark secret: the Sith Lord, Chancellor Palpatine, has manipulated both sides, setting the stage for his rise to ultimate power.
