Storyline: Mission: Impossible begins with agent Ethan Hunt on a mission in Prague. However, the mission goes very badly. His entire team is killed. Consequently, Ethan is the only one who survives.

Suddenly, he receives a message from his boss. He learns that he is now accused of being a traitor. Therefore, he must run away and hide from his own agency.

Meanwhile, he meets a mysterious woman. She tells him that the real traitor is a man named Job. So, Ethan decides he must prove he is innocent. To do this, he needs to find a secret list of all the agents. This list is hidden in a very secure room at the CIA.

First, he forms a new team. Then, they plan a dangerous break-in. For example, they must avoid laser beams and pressure-sensitive floors. Furthermore, Ethan hangs from a wire in the ceiling to steal the list.

Afterward, he discovers something shocking. The real traitor is actually his own boss, not Job. His boss wants to sell the list for a lot of money.

Finally, Ethan confronts his boss on a fast-moving train. They have a big fight on top of the train. In the end, Ethan wins and clears his name.

He then becomes the leader of a new team. The movie concludes with him receiving his next mission, which he immediately accepts.
