Storyline: Alien begins with the spaceship Nostromo traveling back to Earth. The crew is sleeping, but then the ship's computer wakes them up. It has detected a strange signal from a nearby planet.

Therefore, the crew must investigate. They land on the planet and discover a huge, mysterious spaceship. Inside, they find a room full of large eggs. Suddenly, one egg opens and a creature jumps out. It attaches itself to a crew member's face.

The crew brings their hurt friend back to the Nostromo. Later, however, the creature seems to die and falls off. But then, something much worse happens. A small alien suddenly bursts out of the man's chest and quickly escapes into the ship.

Consequently, the crew is now terrified. They realize a deadly alien is hiding and growing inside their ship. So, they decide to hunt for the creature. However, one by one, the alien finds and kills them.

Meanwhile, the ship's science officer, Ash, acts very strangely. The crew soon discovers he is actually an android. Furthermore, his secret mission is to protect the alien, not the human crew.

Finally, only one person remains: Ellen Ripley. She sets the ship to self-destruct and escapes in a small shuttle. But then, she discovers the alien is hiding there with her. So, she puts on a spacesuit and blows the alien out into space. In the end, she is the last survivor, alone in the vast darkness of space.
